The Great Lakes ADA Center in collaboration with the ADA National Network is hosting the September session of the ADA Audio Conference Series on Tuesday, September 19th.
The topic for this session is: Facebook Friends-Workplace Enemies.
Can an employer Google Applicants? During this session the speaker will address the risks of social media in the employment world given it’s relatively new emergence as a communication strategy. With the popularity of social sites like Facebook and Linkedin, employers can gain access to all sorts of information that would normally be "off limits" during an interview. Could this be creating a legal problem for employers? Are people with disabilities being "weeded out" by potential employers because of their "electric footprints"? Join us as EEOC's Joe Bontke spells out the risks and offers some remedy for the new risk of social network "investigating" when an applicant has some "google issues".
